For the longest time, I like many people, had been a “closet” Christian in the Marketplace. I had my faith. I had a vibrant relationship with God. But the minute my faith began to show, I distinctly remember changing the subject—or downplaying it as soon as possible, to redirect the conversation.

Consider the challenge Jesus faced. The Son of God in the flesh was literally “airdropped” into a nation where he was unknown, had a mission no one would have believed in, had credentials no one could understand, and was such an “out there” person (or “Person” if you want to be precise in terms of the Trinity) that even his family thought he was the odd-man out.

We can learn how to have conversations that count at work and help people become “followers” of Christ (disciples) who can make “followers of Christ” (disciples). And after we do, what do we do next? Think “C.A.N.S.” It’s something you “cans” do. And I’ll show you ways it’s being done in workplace settings.

By virtue of where you’ve been “air-dropped” in the Marketplace, who has God called you to “be with”—or perhaps more specifically—to “be with” you for a season in your marketplace life?

Shortly after his Resurrection Reckoning, He gave His disciples an impossible (but possible with God) mission. It’s found in Matthew 28, and while some say it’s the Great Commission (and it certainly is), it was also meant to be an everyday commission.

How can we grow from simply “showing” it, and helping others to actually “knowing” it— and coming to know the God we’ve all come to know and love?

Without Him, we would not be where we are today. And with Him, we can get to where we need to go. But to do so, we’ve got to begin learning how to give more space and place to the work of the Holy Spirit.

As we concluded last time, by being “full of the Spirit” workers in a casual marketplace setting, the Scripture shows amazing things can happen in what seem to be very secular settings.
